Peripheral Bronchoscopy

Gain the cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to effectively use peripheral bronchoscopy, radial EBUS, and image guidance systems in clinical practice. This 1-day course will cover ultrasound, peripheral airway anatomy, and pulmonary nodule management guidelines while allowing you to practice your skills in a hands-on environment.

Prerequisites
Prior to attending the course, all learners will receive access to the CHEST Learning Management System that accommodates the precourse materials. These materials will form the cognitive base of the course.

This course uses the flipped classroom model. This model engages learners with course content prior to live learning, which allows for application of the content during the course.

Target Audience
Pulmonary and critical care fellows, physicians, intensivists, thoracic surgeons, and physician assistants are encouraged to attend.

Location
American College of Chest Physicians
Innovation, Simulation, and Training Center
2595 Patriot Blvd
Glenview, IL 60026

  • Learning Category III: Evidence-Based
  • Learning Category IV: Case- and Problem-Based
  • Learning Category V: Simulation-Based Learning
  • Learning Category VI: Quality Improvement

The development, planning, and delivery of instructional methods for the activity, "Peripheral Bronchoscopy” is based on the following learning category:

  • Learning Category V: Simulation-Based Learning

Other learning categories used in this activity include: TBD

Maintenance of Licensure
Learning categories are further subcategorized into “Maintenance of Licensure” (MOL) areas. The subcategorization is helpful for applying CME to state requirements. All of the sessions in this program are classified as MOL: Scope of Practice-Critical Care Education.

This will allow you to review this information, and use it to improve your clinical practice in the future. You will receive an e-mail with the details about logging in to get started. Handouts and slides will be available for download on the LMS 10-14 days prior to the start of the course.

Laptops or tablet computers are required for the course. The general session room will be equipped with wireless Internet access and power for personal electronics.
