Do you demonstrate excellence, dedication, and leadership in chest medicine?
When you become an FCCP (Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians), you play an active role in advancing the field of chest medicine while enjoying the prestige of being associated with a distinctive group of chest medicine professionals. This opportunity is available for the entire chest medicine team and is available exclusively from CHEST.
Obtaining the FCCP designation recognizes you as a leader in CHEST, your profession, your institution, and most importantly demonstrates commitment to your patients.
“Achieving FCCP status from CHEST is an acknowledgement of years of education and commitment to chest medicine. I have found being an FCCP to be rewarding on a personal level, as well as a professional level. It has provided me with connections to colleagues nationally and internationally, and it has opened the door to leadership opportunities.” – Thomas Van der Kloot, MD, FCCP, member since 1996

If you are accepted as an FCCP, you may use the FCCP designation while you remain a member at the Enhanced or Premium level of membership. Becoming an FCCP allows you to hold office and have the eligibility to vote. You will also be able to take part in prestigious events at the CHEST Annual Meeting in your first year as an FCCP, including attending an FCCP breakfast and convocation ceremony. New FCCPs receive a certificate, prepared on a quarterly basis for all new FCCPs.

All new FCCPs are invited to participate in the convocation ceremony at the CHEST Annual Meeting. As a new FCCP, you will receive an invitation in the fall. If you are unable to attend your first year as an FCCP, you will be invited to attend your second year.
Please note: You must be accepted as an FCCP prior to August 15 to be invited to the convocation ceremony in the same year. All applications approved after August 15 will be invited to attend in the following year.
You may only use the FCCP designation if you are active at the Enhanced or Premium level of membership. If your membership has lapsed or dropped, simply renew by submitting your payment online or by calling our Help Team at 224/521-9800.

Additional FCCP certificates cost $25 each. Please e-mail member@chestnet.org to place your order.
Master Fellows are FCCPs who have distinguished themselves by attaining professional preeminence. Through personal character and leadership; contributions to medical research, clinical practice, quality improvement, or medical education; and years of service to CHEST, they have advanced chest medicine. Each spring, a Call for Nominations is sent out to all members. Visit the Master FCCP webpage for complete details.
