Early Career Professionals:

Join a NetWork

NetWorks are our special interest groups that focus on areas of chest medicine. Joining and staying involved in CHEST NetWorks provides a pathway to leadership roles.

Attend the Annual Meeting

Visit the Trainee Lounge for sessions that focus on various stages of career development, including early, middle, late, and transitioning.

Apply for a CHEST Foundation Travel Grant

Each year, the CHEST Foundation offers travel grants to the CHEST Annual Meeting for underrepresented groups. The grant includes a $1000 travel stipend, complimentary registration to the CHEST Annual Meeting, and invitations to receptions with CHEST Foundation leadership and networking opportunities. For more information on how to apply, email Andrew Gillen.

Attend the Board Review Courses

These premier courses review the information you should know for ABIM certification exams. Course content mirrors the ABIM exam content outline. Whether you need to certify, recertify, or simply review, these courses offer a thorough review you can put to the test.

Submit a Topic for the Annual Meeting

If you have an idea for an educational session, submit your topic for a chance to get onto the CHEST Annual Meeting program. The topic submission site is open every year from late September to November 30.

Apply for CHEST Leadership Positions

Get involved by joining a CHEST committee. Committee members work with peers and CHEST to impact work done by CHEST and the CHEST Foundation.

Attend a Live Learning Course

CHEST offers an array of live learning simulation courses at our CHEST Innovation, Simulation, and Training Center in Glenview, IL. Receive customized guidance from top names in pulmonary, critical care, mechanical ventilation, and more with hands-on and immediately relevant professional training.

Apply for the Early Career Professional Development Scholarship

The Early Career Professional Development Scholarship provides three graduating fellows with access to select CHEST education offerings for 1-year. The goal of the scholarship is to increase and attract young clinicians to CHEST; introduce them to leadership opportunities within CHEST and The CHEST Foundation; and to build a pipeline of future members, volunteers, and leaders for the organization.

Communications for applying are sent in the summer. If you have any questions, please contact Andrew Gillen.
