Career Mentoring Program

The Fellow-in-Training (FIT) member on each NetWork Steering Committee will be paired up with the Vice-Chair (VC). In addition to the quarterly NetWork conference calls, FIT/VC pairs should hold monthly meetings (throughout the course of time FIT is on the steering committee), for a minimum of 1 hour each, either face-to-face or by conference call.
Additional goals for VC to help FIT with the following CHEST activities:
- Submit abstract, case report, and/or general session for the CHEST Annual Meeting
- Aid in creation of NetWork Storify webpages
- Write NetWork article for CHEST Physician
- Attend CHEST Annual Meeting event (e.g. CHEST Opening Reception, NetWork Trainee Mixer, CHEST Challenge, etc.)
- VC to serve as champion for FIT to navigate their role in CHEST successfully
At the end of each year, participants will complete an evaluation form to help determine the success of the mentoring relationship.
