CHEST 2010 Call for Late-Breaking Abstracts

Submission deadline: August 20, 11:59 pm
CHEST 2010
October 30 - November 4
Vancouver, BC, Canada

You are invited to submit abstracts of new, late-breaking original research for presentation at CHEST 2010. To present the most current scientific information during the meeting, the program committee is calling for late-breaking abstracts through August 20.

Abstract Presentation Venue
Accepted abstracts will be eligible for publication in CHEST, presentation as an electronic poster online, and presentation as a slide or poster during CHEST 2010. To enhance exposure, late-breaking abstracts will be presented in groups of four or less during prime meeting periods, although grouped abstracts may not be thematically related. Slide presentations will be limited to 15 minutes, followed by 5-minute discussion periods. Some late-breaking abstracts may be accepted as posters to be presented in the Clinical Resource Center during Poster Grand Rounds.

Submission Criteria for a Late-Breaking Abstract

  1. Abstracts should be of the highest possible quality, as may be represented by a randomized controlled trial with limited beta errors, case control cohort study, or extensive metaanalysis.
  2. Abstracts must contain final results and incorporate appropriate statistical analysis. Abstracts submitted stating "results to follow" or a similar deferment cannot be considered.
  3. State/document the reason(s) this abstract is late-breaking information and was not submitted during the general abstract submission period. This information is requested to ensure fairness to the large group of people submitting abstracts meeting the general submission deadline. Missing the general abstract deadline is not an acceptable reason for late-breaking abstract submission. An example of an acceptable explanation is that a blinded randomization had not been unblinded, and the data were not analyzed before the general abstract deadline.
  4. Multiple abstracts focusing on several different aspects of the same study will not be considered.
  5. Late-breaking abstracts have to contain novel data that have not been presented elsewhere.

If you have questions regarding submission, contact abstracts@chestnet.org.
