The ACCP is an established leader with an impressive track record. Programs have always provided a strong clinical focus with the goal of improved patient care at the core of each offering.
Since 2005, more than 5,000 physicians have benefited from ACCP simulation education programs.
The ACCP offers a world-renowned, dynamic faculty: more than 250 physicians from leading hospitals and academic institutions, representing key disciplines.
A student to teacher ratio of 5:1, or even fewer students to teachers, provides focused, thoughtful attention and a performance-based, hands-on assessment of each individual participant.
The ACCP is proud to host the world’s largest annual meeting Simulation Center: 54 sessions across eight clinical programs, serving more than 1,000 physicians and supported by nearly 25,000 square feet of state-of-the-art simulation technology and education design.
Programs are supported with published results in improving learner performance.
Designed by frontline experts in the fields of critical care ultrasonography, bronchoscopy, airways management, mechanical ventilation, and critical care management, each discipline offers a continuum ranging from individual courses to a Train-the-Trainer Certificate, culminating with ACCP Master Instructor status.

Courses offered by the ACCP allow you to develop and refine your clinical skills. Emphasis is placed on teaching the most up-to-date standards of practice, patient safety, evidence-based patient care, and formative assessment.
Certificate of Completion
Designed by frontline experts in the fields of critical care ultrasonography, bronchoscopy, airways management, mechanical ventilation, and critical care management, each discipline offers a continuum ranging from individual courses to a Train-the-Trainer Certificate, culminating with ACCP Master Instructor status.
ACCP Certificate of Completion provides an assessment-based certificate that fulfills the quality standards set forth by the Institute for Credentialing Excellence and the ACCP. Students receive instruction and training to acquire specific knowledge and skills associated with intended learning outcomes and evaluation. A Certificate of Completion is awarded only to participants who meet the performance, proficiency, or passing standard for the assessment(s).

- Complete a portfolio to document performance in practice.
- Pass a final comprehensive assessment exam.

Train-the-Trainer Certificate
ACCP Train-the-Trainer Certificate qualifies candidates to teach courses at their institutions for their students and peers. It provides eligibility to become an ACCP instructor/faculty member at the CHEST annual meeting, at one of the courses offered at ACCP headquarters, or at another ACCP course scheduled throughout the year.
- Complete the ACCP Certificate of Completion as described above.
- Complete the ACCP Train-the-Trainer Certificate Program.
- Meet requirements to become an ACCP instructor.
- Pass a comprehensive knowledge and practical skills assessment.
- Use ACCP learner and training materials.

The Master Instructor
The ACCP Master Instructor designation is earned by the most qualified applicants. Master Instructors also receive special recognition and discounts.
- Complete the ACCP Train-the-Trainer Certificate.
- Teach four or more ACCP courses in a calendar year.
