Each year during the annual CHEST meeting, the ACCP honors physicians who are making significant or meritorious contributions to chest medicine. Physicians are recognized for advancing work in specific areas of chest medicine, mentorship and training, furthering the work of the ACCP, and more. Nominations for the CHEST 2013 Honor and Memorial Awards and Lectures are being accepted now. Review the list of awards and lectures, then nominate colleagues who should be recognized for their distinguished work.

College Medalist Award
Awarded to an ACCP fellow (FCCP) for meritorious service in furthering work in chest medicine to honor a clinician, author, teacher, or investigator.

Honorary Fellow Award
Awarded to an individual who is not a member of the ACCP and has made outstanding contributions to complement the ACCP's mission to further the art and science of chest health and has promoted global cardiopulmonary health and humanitarianism in medicine.

Distinguished Service Award
Conferred to an ACCP Fellow (or group) who has held a leadership position in the ACCP and led significant achievements and/or donated time, leadership, and service to the ACCP.

Edward C. Rosenow III, MD, Master FCCP/Master Teacher Honor Lecture
Honors an ACCP Fellow (FCCP) who is a physician educator and has excelled in unusual lung cases, mentoring, and improving physician communication with patients by teaching them the art of medicine.

Roger C. Bone Memorial Lecture in Critical Care
Awarded to a world-renowned visionary in pulmonary and critical care medicine who is accomplished as an academician, clinician, and author.

Murray Kornfeld Memorial Founders Lecture
Conferred to an ACCP Fellow (FCCP) who is a leader in pulmonary and critical care medicine, particularly in the areas of infection and inflammation, who is developing innovative approaches and therapies expected to guide medicine for decades to come.

Distinguished Scientist Honor Lecture in Cardiopulmonary Physiology
Awarded to an ACCP Fellow (FCCP) who is well-respected and a published original investigator in cardiopulmonary clinical physiology.

Pasquale Ciaglia Memorial Lecture in Interventional Medicine
Awarded to an ACCP Fellow (FCCP) known for his or her work in interventional medicine, including clinical state-of-the-art innovations, economic impact, invention, interventional critical care, research opportunities, and more.

Margaret Pfrommer Memorial Lecture in Long-term Mechanical Ventialation
Awarded to a clinician(s) or ventilator dependent professional(s)/advocate(s) who has/have advanced the areas of mechanical ventilation and fostered partnerships between physicians and patients.
