ACCP Application for Non-US Education Meetings

Requirements

  • You must be an ACCP Fellow (FCCP) to submit this application.
    • If you are not an FCCP, please contact the ACCP Governor/Regent in your country to work with you to submit your application.

  • It is your responsibility to work with the Regent or Governor in your country to submit a letter of support, written in English, for this application. Upon completion of this application, an e-mail will automatically be sent to your ACCP Governor/Regent with a copy of your application and a reminder to submit the letter of support.
    • Your application will not be considered if this letter of support is not submitted.

Please note that applications will not be considered if the meeting is scheduled during a major ACCP educational event.

ACCP educational and/or leadership activities include:

  • October 30 - November 4, 2010: CHEST 2010
  • October 22-27, 2011: CHEST 2011

Other dates may disqualify your application depending on your needs. Once the application is submitted, the ACCP will correspond with you regarding your proposed meeting dates.

Furthermore, requests for ACCP faculty to attend a non-US education meeting will not be considered if the meeting is in a location where the US Department of State has issued a travel warning. Please see http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_1764.html for current travel warnings.

Applications:

1. ACCP Endorsement of a Non-US Education Meeting

Endorsement of an education meeting indicates that the ACCP has recognized the program as a quality activity but will not award continuing medical education (CME) credit.

You do not need to complete this application if you have completed the application for ACCP Faculty Request at a Non-US Education Meeting.

Deadline: Applications to request ACCP endorsement of an education meeting are accepted on an ongoing basis, but must be submitted at least 6 months prior to the start of the meeting.

2. ACCP Faculty Request at a Non-US Education Meeting

The applicant is seeking ACCP faculty to participate in a non-US education meeting.

If the application for ACCP faculty to participate in an education meeting is approved, the meeting organizer is expected to pay all faculty local expenses, including, but not limited to, hotel, meals, local transportation, etc. The meeting organizer is also requested to pay travel expenses; however, if the applicant can demonstrate that the meeting organizer cannot pay for 100% of the travel expenses, the ACCP will work with the organization to find additional funding sources.

Funding of ACCP faculty to participate in an education meeting is limited.

Please note that the ACCP International Education Committee and The CHEST Foundation Pro Bono Committee reserve the right to determine whether the application qualifies for a pro bono meeting based on the country’s World Bank Income Classification, as well as budgetary and other considerations of the ACCP. Pro bono meetings are required to have co-chairs, one from the organizing institution and one from the ACCP, who are willing to work together. Further details about this arrangement will be provided to those who are approved under this classification.

Deadline: Applications to request ACCP faculty at an education meeting that is scheduled between July 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012, will be available as of September 1, 2010.
