Mechanical Ventilation

Mechanical Ventilation
Tuesday, August 31
Chair: Neil R. Macintyre, MD, FCCP

Overview

Mechanical Ventilation
Orlando, FL

This course will emphasize the use of graphic displays of airways mechanics to help clinicians optimize mechanical ventilation support for difficult-to-treat patients. Common problems, such as providing ventilation support for the patient with severe obstruction and COPD or the hypoxemic patient with ARDS, will be addressed. Evidence-based information will be highlighted during case management presentations and discussions.

Objectives

Learning objectives:

  • Examine the newer modes of mechanical ventilation support.
  • Analyze pressure, volume, and flow waveforms to help improve the patient-ventilator interface.
