Critical Training in Critical Care

Agenda

Plan now to attend this intensive course for intensive care, emphasizing hands-on skill-building opportunities and detailing the three critical components of ultrasonography.

  • Knowledge base will be increased through lectures that focus on important uses of critical care ultrasonography.

  • Image interpretation will be facilitated in group sessions under the supervision of a single faculty member. A large number of ultrasound images demonstrating normal and pathologic findings will be used to give you a comprehensive learning opportunity. As you gain skill, the format will become more challenging, with unknown cases to test your skills.

  • Image acquisition will be practiced during hands-on, small-group workshops. Practice skills using high-quality ultrasound technology on live patient models, supervised by experienced faculty to guide and maximize your training.

Objectives

  • Understand the knowledge base required to perform critical care ultrasonography.

  • Interpret image cases.

  • Incorporate interpretation skills required for critical care ultrasonography.

  • Demonstrate appropriate image acquisition techniques required for critical care ultrasonography.

  • List appropriate uses of ultrasonography in pulmonary and critical care practices.

CME

Accreditation Statement
he ACCP is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CME Hours by ACCP
The ACCP designates this educational activity for a maximum of 22.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Disclosure Statement
The ACCP remains strongly committed to providing the best available evidence-based clinical information to participants of this educational activity and requires an open disclosure of any potential conflict of interest identified by our faculty members. ACCP Learning Categories
CCP Learning Categories organize education activities based on how education is delivered to promote a wider variety of educational methods. The sessions presented during Celebration of Pediatric Pulmonology 2009 are clearly labeled to identify the type of instruction and methodology used, so you can determine how the presentation will meet your learning style and educational goals. ACCP Learning Categories have no predetermined requirements and will automatically be reflected on the ACCP’s online CME certificate.

ACCP Learning Category I: Lecture-Based
ACCP Learning Category II: Self-Directed
ACCP Learning Category III: Evidence-Based
ACCP Learning Category IV: Case- and Problem-Based
ACCP Learning Category V: Simulation
ACCP Learning Category VI: Quality Improvement

Maintenance of Licensure
The ACCP Learning Categories are further subcategorized into “Maintenance of Licensure” (MOL) areas. The subcategorization is very helpful for applying CME to state requirements. All of the sessions in this program are subcategorized as MOL: Scope of Critical Care Education.

ACCP Education Mission
