killer of women, claiming the lives of
more women each year than breast
cancer, colon cancer, and cervical cancer
combined.
The First Periodic Health Disparities and
Inequalities Report was released by the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC) in January 2011. Health
disparities are the differences in health
outcomes between groups that reflect
inequalities.
The Make the Choice: Tobacco or Health? speakers kit was created by the Women’s Health NetWork of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) and The CHEST Foundation as a way to help health-care professionals and community members persuade women, teens, and adolescents to say no to tobacco.
