care education. Previously, 100
diversely trained registrants for the
simulation experience at the annual
CHEST meeting took a pretest on
personal protective equipment (PPE)
use and knowledge on chemical
disaster agents.
While the debate on whether global
warming (GW) really exists, and if so,
will it have human or environmental
impact rages on, our organization
needs to become proactive in both our
stance on the issue and on what we cando for health mitigation.
(NORTHBROOK, IL, May 5, 2008)—In an unprecedented initiative, US and Canadian experts have developed a comprehensive framework to optimize and manage critical care resources during times of pandemic outbreaks or other mass critical care disasters. The new proposal suggests legally protecting clinicians who follow accepted protocols for the allocation of scarce resources when providing care during mass critical care events.
