EMERGENCY MASS CRITICAL CAREThe ACCP and members of the Task Force for Mass Critical Care developed Definitive Care for the Critically Ill During a Disaster, a framework to guide public health authorities, hospitals, and medical professionals in caring for patients during times of emergency mass critical care (EMCC). Published as a supplement to the May 2008 issue of CHEST, the framework offers the most comprehensive guidance in planning for and implementing a coordinated and uniform response to mass critical care at the local, state, and federal levels.
