Course Description
The program will provide an update of existing knowledge and skills in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). It also will offer attendees the opportunity for acquisition of new information, concepts, and/or skills, with the sharing of new ideas, to stimulate the development of knowledge and skills in this specialty area.
This program addresses the following three American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)/Institute of Medicine (IOM) competencies: employ evidence-based practice, medical knowledge, and work in interdisciplinary teams.
Objectives
Following the course, participants should be able to:
- Identify the current guidelines and research in PAH as it applies to other disciplines.
- Discuss the current and upcoming therapeutic approaches in PAH.
- Identify and demonstrate the realistic scope of the information base in seeking alternative and, ideally, curative therapy for PAH to caregivers, patients, and PAH supporters.
