Role of Computed Tomography of the Chest in Managing Spontaneous Pneumothorax
Key point: Computed tomography has little role in the management of patients with PSP.
Routine computed tomography of the chest is not recommended in:
- Patients with first-time PSP (good consensus)
No consensus achieved regarding use of computed tomography in:
- Recurrent PSP
- Patients with PSP with persistent airleaks
- Planned surgical interventions in PSP patients
