How to Develop a Guideline

Previous Question | Main page | Next Question

What about dissemination tools and other products?

The ACCP and other professional medical organizations are presently developing clinical practice guidelines at an increasing rate. The quality of these guidelines are improving with their increasing focus on presenting evidence-based information. However, adoption of these guidelines by physicians in the front lines remains poor. In response, it is necessary for the Guideline Panel members, in conjunction with ACCP staff, to develop dissemination tools and products. Dissemination tools and products can include, but are not limited to, patient education guides, quick reference guides, slide kits, PDAs, and Web downloads. These dissemination tools and products can be culminated together in the ACCP Clinical Resource.
