HSP Vision:
The American College of Chest Physicians is the leading resource in the development of evidence-based guidelines in the field of chest medicine.
HSP Mission:
To optimize patient care by integrating evidence-based guidelines into clinical practice
HSP Goals:
The ACCP's Health and Science Policy Committee works toward achieving its mission and vision by pursing the following goals:

Identify conditions or interventions that potentially have high public health and global economic impact and in which management could be significantly improved by a change in clinical practice.

Identify clinical topics in which treatment or diagnostic strategies are evolving.

Identify topics that have a sufficient, established body of published evidence for development of a clinical practice guideline.

Identify topics that reflect the constituency of the ACCP and that may cross over to other disciplines.

Identify and develop tools that enable clinicians to quickly reference and utilize evidence-based guidelines in day-to-day practice.

Work collaboratively with the ACCP Education Committee and other ACCP committees and councils to incorporate evidence-based guidelines into educational venues.

Work with other organizations as appropriate to develop, sponsor, and/or disseminate evidence-based guidelines.
