American College of Chest Physicians Diagnosis and Management of Lung Cancer: ACCP Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guidelines (3rd Edition)

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The Health and Science Policy Committee is seeking applications for appointments to the writing panel for the Diagnosis and Management of Lung Cancer: ACCP Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guidelines (3rd Edition). This is an excellent opportunity for those with expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, or management of patients with lung cancer and/or methodologic expertise to contribute to this prestigious guideline that has impacted clinical decision-making, leading to the improvement of patient care worldwide.

Open positions include writing committee members for individual chapters.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates for the panel should:

  • Be an established expert with academic and clinical experience in lung cancer diagnosis or management.
  • Be experienced with evidence-based guideline development.
  • Possess strong knowledge of research and methodologic skills.
  • Useful to have knowledge of potential impact upon economic and medicolegal areas.
  • Exhibit proficient writing and editorial skills.
  • Have no significant or unmanageable conflicts of interest.
  • Commit to devoting the necessary time to the guideline, specifically at peak times in the development process.
  • Willingness to collaborate with writing committee members through regular e-mails, conference calls, and occasional face-to-face meetings. Travel will be reimbursed.
  • US and international members are encouraged.
  • Candidates are encouraged to be members or Fellows of the ACCP or willing to join.

Submission Requirements

  • All nominees must submit a brief NIH-style Biosketch (optional template attached)
  • Statement of interest and specific area of expertise within tlung cancer (no more than 1 to 2 pages)
  • Completed conflicts of interest disclosure form.

Nomination deadline: February 15, 2009
Appointments will be made by September 2009.
