ICU Admission

Persistent severe obstruction despite treatment mandates admission to the ICU.⁵ Related indications include respiratory arrest, depressed mental status, and arrhythmia.⁵ The need for frequent albuterol treatments may, out of necessity, require ICU admission, but also signifies a patient population at risk for deterioration.
