Surgical Management of Chronic Rhinosinusitis

Chronic rhinosinusitis may not respond to aggressive medical therapy, although this appears to be less common than it was in the past.⁴⁷ Absolute indications for surgery in the setting of chronic rhinosinusitis have been established (Table 5),⁴⁸ but relative indications have been harder to determine. Certainly one relative indication for surgery is failure of adequate medical management.
