The ACCP-CCI serves as a center of excellence, merging all programs and resources into a central organizational unit, providing the ACCP with a strong voice in the future of critical care medicine.

The ACCP-CCI is a premier resource for excellence in the care of the critically ill.
Mission
To apply expertise in education, research, and advocacy to the improvement of health care for the critically ill and their families through concerted efforts of collaboration with like-minded organizations sharing a vision of patient-focused care.
The CCI is currently developing and implementing critical care programs and related products designed to meet the needs of physicians, patients, and families, which include:
- A forum to address the management of unrecognized or underestimated pain in the ICU setting.
- Innovative tools for critical care providers.
- Support of advocacy issues surrounding workforce shortages in critical care medicine.
- Feature articles about emerging critical care issues for CHEST Physician, the ACCP news publication.
- A collaborative initiative addressing critical care needs in mass causality events.
