There has been ongoing discussion in the media and the medical literature focused on what constitutes an appropriate relationship between physicians/health care establishment and the pharmaceutical industry. Many health-care professionals have a variety of interactions with industry, perhaps by meeting with sales representatives, consulting for companies or participating on speaker bureaus, or enrolling patients in industry-sponsored clinical trials. The ACCP Members in Industry NetWork provides links to relevant articles published in peer-reviewed journals and encourages members to peruse these articles in order to stay current with issues, perspectives, and recommendations.
