Affiliate NetWork

How Can I Get Involved?

We invite your participation— volunteer on our NetWork projects, become a member of our steering committee when openings are available, and provide ideas for the ACCP annual CHEST meetings and future NetWork projects. The ACCP is your organization, and we wish to provide you, as a junior level physician, the opportunity to become more involved and be an influential future leader in the ACCP.

Current activities of the Affiliate NetWork include:

• Evaluate and moderate interesting case report submissions and presentations at the annual CHEST meeting
  • One hundred forty-four case reports are accepted annually for presentation at our annual meeting.
  • These are graded by Affiliate NetWork steering committee members.
  • Accepted presentations are published in CHEST in abstract format.
• CHEST Challenge
  • This “Jeopardy” type competition is open to all affiliate members and has been a successful part of the annual CHEST meeting for 6 years.
  • The top nine participating training programs are eligible to participate in the play-offs at the annual CHEST meeting.
• Postgraduate survey
  • Development of a posttraining survey to identify areas of "real-world" practice education that may be helpful to affiliate members prior to entering practice.
• The submission of CHEST annual meeting program sessions of interest to affiliate members and others.
• Annual Affiliate NetWork Luncheon during the CHEST annual meeting.

NetWork members receive minutes of the conference calls and meetings and information on current activities. You are also invited to attend the Affiliate NetWork Luncheon, held each year at the CHEST annual meeting, to find out more about the ACCP Affiliate NetWork.
