Allied Health NetWork
Objectives
The principal objective of the Allied Health NetWork of the ACCP is to maintain and advance high standards of medical and allied health practice in cardiopulmonary medicine and surgery, critical care, and related disciplines worldwide by:
- Contributing to educational program development by the suggestion of objectives, topics, and speakers that will benefit the ACCP membership;
- Promoting and supporting standards of excellence in the education of medical and allied health professions;
- Encouraging progress and excellence in research; and
- Fostering disease prevention, emphasizing smoking cessation.
Goals
The goals of the Allied Health NetWork are to:
- Represent the ACCP at professional meetings on cardiopulmonary and critical care medicine and the allied health disciplines.
- Serve as the allied health resource for the development of policies, practices, and procedures for the ACCP.
- Participate in NetWorks within each member’s area of interest and expertise.
- Provide other NetWorks with current peer-reviewed allied health literature and other relevant information as it relates to the activities of that NetWork.
- Provide NetWork members with access to information and a mechanism for dialogue about medical, financial, organizational, educational, and research issues relative to cardiopulmonary and critical care medicine.
- Maintain liaisons within the ACCP and between the ACCP and other organizations and associations involving allied health in order to promote dialogue regarding clinical, financial, management, political, regulatory, and organizational concerns of allied health professionals and physicians.
- Contribute to the evidence base of cardiopulmonary and critical care medicine.
- Maintain appropriate standards for allied health membership.
- Maintain professional membership association of allied health licensure, registration, or certification.
