Thoracic Oncology NetWork
A clinical NetWork advancing the concept of multidisciplinary care
of the patient with thoracic cancer.
Welcome to the Thoracic Oncology NetWork.
The vision of the Thoracic Oncology NetWork is to advance the multidisciplinary care of patients with thoracic malignancy by facilitating coordinated care among pulmonary medicine specialists, allied health professionals, nursing specialists, medical oncologists, thoracic surgeons, radiologists, radiation oncologists, rehabilitation medicine specialists, and others who share a common interest in the diagnosis and treatment of these patients.
The mission of the Thoracic Oncology NetWork is to:
- Support changes in the training of pulmonary medicine fellows that include a greater role in the care of the patient with thoracic cancer
- Provide a mechanism for dissemination of the latest knowledge and methods regarding treatment of the patient with thoracic malignancy, including clinical trials
- Work with advocacy groups on behalf of patients and families living with thoracic cancers
- Leverage the knowledge and skills of the membership to conduct relevant clinical and outcomes research
- Provide leadership, content area expertise, data collection, and writing for the 2nd edition of the ACCP evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for lung cancer
The Thoracic Oncology NetWork Web site provides access to current NetWork projects and links to a variety of educational and patient resources provided by the ACCP. The Web site also provides access to external resources outside of the ACCP that contain information for health professionals and patients who are interested in chest malignancies.
Thank you for your interest and support of our NetWork—we look forward to working with you.
With kind regards,
