Earning official recognition from the Chicago Tribune in 2023, the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) prides itself on being a top workplace in the Chicagoland area. To ensure a positive work environment for all, CHEST relies heavily on principles highlighted in “The Way We Work.”

To retain quality staff in 2023, CHEST focused on rewarding employees for their contributions to the organization. CHEST hosted:

For the second year, CHEST was named one of the best places to work by major Chicago newspaper, the Chicago Tribune. The rankings were determined based on employee satisfaction scores from a survey rating statements about their feelings on issues such as leadership of the company, execution, and connection.

CHEST interns in 2023
Still in the throes of learning to live and work in a world after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, employees expect their companies to be flexible, compassionate, and understanding of their lives outside of the office in a stronger way than in the past.
Meeting this need and keeping employee safety and well-being at the forefront, CHEST continued operating on a hybrid schedule for 2023, allowing for greater employee flexibility.

To share local health resources with staff and community members, CHEST hosted the 2023 Wellness Fair at its headquarters building in collaboration with the Glenview Chamber of Commerce. The Wellness Fair featured 19 businesses from the Glenview area specializing in health, wellness, and lifestyle resources, including physical therapy studios, dental providers, and more.
