Join the CHEST Community

We're glad that you have chosen, or plan to choose, chest medicine as your specialty. When you become a member of CHEST, you are joining over 2,500 other trainees to network with in your field. As a trainee, you will be provided with personal and professional growth opportunities. Don't forget: You receive a $200 discount on any membership package when you join as a trainee.

Join a NetWork

NetWorks are our special interest groups that focus on areas of chest medicine. Joining and staying involved in CHEST NetWorks provides a pathway to leadership roles.

Submit a Case Report

Submit a case for presentation during a case report slide or poster session. Respected experts will moderate the session and lead discussion. Open only to those enrolled in a physician training program, both domestic and international, in pulmonary, critical care, sleep medicine, thoracic surgery, or a related discipline.

Submit a Topic for the Annual Meeting

If you have an idea for an educational session, submit your topic for a chance to get onto the CHEST Annual Meeting program. The topic submission site is open every year from late September to November 30.

Attend the Annual Meeting

Visit the Trainee Lounge for sessions that focus on various stages of career development, including early, middle, late, and transitioning.

Attend the CHEST Challenge Championship and cheer on the final three teams.

Attend a Fellows Course (ensure your Program Director nominates you)

Apply for a CHEST Foundation Travel Grant

Each year, the CHEST Foundation offers travel grants to the CHEST Annual Meeting for underrepresented groups. The grant includes a $1000 travel stipend, complimentary registration to the CHEST Annual Meeting, and invitations to receptions with CHEST Foundtaton leadership and networking oppurtunities. NetWorks are special interest groups that focus on particular areas of chest medicine. Join any of the NetWorks to connect with others who have similar interests, help plan educational sessions, take on leadership roles, and participate in the development of policies, opinions, and position statements. NetWork membership is open to CHEST members.

The Trainee Work Group is an initiative of the Training and Transitions Committee (T&T) charged with a mission of enhancing the educational experience and professional development of trainees by providing them with structure and content, affording them an opportunity to become future CHEST leaders by fostering their involvement in American College of Chest Physician activities.

If interested, please fill out our Apply for CHEST Leadership form to outline your interests and we will be in touch in the Spring when the nomination period opens.

Attend a Live Learning Course

CHEST offers an array of live learning simulation courses at our CHEST Innovation, Simulation, and Training Center in Glenview, IL. Receive customized guidance from top names in pulmonary, critical care, mechanical ventilation, and more with hands-on and immediately relevant professional training.
