The impact of asthma on morbidity and health-care utilization increases exponentially with severity. There have been remarkable advances in our understanding of asthma pathobiology. Availability of novel advanced therapies, particularly biologics, has changed the landscape of severe asthma management. Clinicians caring for patients with severe asthma often struggle with selecting best-evidence treatment. This interactive session will provide learners with the skills needed to systematically evaluate difficult asthma, provide a practical approach to phenotyping, and understand application of advanced therapies in severe asthma. Case studies will be used to illustrate a structured approach to management.

Course Objectives

  • Summarize key differences between T2-high and T2-low asthma.
  • List the indications for available biologics in severe asthma.
  • Discuss the key principles in management of severe asthma in pregnancy.
  • Describe a stepwise multidisciplinary approach to management of difficult asthma.

Unable to attend all live sessions? Don’t worry—you can access the recorded content from the sessions for 3 months. Keep in mind, though, that attending live gives you an opportunity to participate in Q&As.
