About this course

Complex airway situations are a daily occurrence for most critical care providers, and up-to-date knowledge is vital for delivering patients the highest level of care. Through interactive sessions, you’ll practice basic and advanced ICU intubation skills for managing challenging airway scenarios.

Expert faculty will teach evidence-based tools using cadavers in a low-risk environment. You’ll build your competency with methods like the Seldinger technique, cricothyrotomy, and extraglottic airway (EGA) insertion.

Everyone attending and staffing the course must have completed the full course of an FDA-approved vaccination for COVID-19, including all boosters for which they are eligible, before the beginning of the course. Perform a health status self-check prior to the course for any onset of COVID symptoms, and remain home if any are present.

Physician Credit

CHEST is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CHEST designates this live activity for a maximum of 19.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

CME credit hours are subject to change. Final CME credit hours will be provided on-site.

Nursing Credit

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 16433, for 19.5 contact hours.

Nurse Practitioners

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from organizations accredited by the ACCME. Individuals are responsible for checking with the AANPCB for further guidelines.

Physician Assistants

American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. PAs may receive a maximum of 19.5 Category 1 credits for completing this activity.

Maintenance of Certification Statement

Successful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn up to 19.5 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points.

Upon successful completion of this course, CHEST will submit your completion data to ABIM via ACCME’s Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) for MOC points. Please allow 5-7 business days after claiming for credits to be posted to your ABIM record.
