Training together as an interprofessional critical care team is essential for providing high-quality care. In this course, leaders in critical care education will teach state-of-the-art techniques relevant to every provider, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. Through hands-on simulations and live models, you’ll receive experience with bedside critical care ultrasound, airway management, mechanical ventilation, and common ICU procedures.

What you'll learn

Principles of diagnostic and procedural ultrasound, airway management, and ventilator management

Common ultrasound-guided procedures, including central venous catheter insertion, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and tube thoracostomy

Skills in laryngoscopy, bag-mask ventilation, and extraglottic airway insertion

Systematic approaches to airway management

Selection of appropriate mechanical ventilator modes and settings for patients in respiratory failure

Your tuition fee includes attendance at all course sessions and electronic access to course materials. (Printed materials or flash drives will not be provided.) Lunch and refreshments during breaks will be provided. Breakfast is available at CHEST-affiliated hotels.

Cancellation Policy

Tuition refund requests for this course must be received in writing by 4 weeks prior to the course start date for a full refund, less a $100 processing fee. Refunds will not be given after 4 weeks prior to the course start date. If you choose "Become a Member" when you register, only your course registration can be cancelled. No refunds will be given for membership.

CHEST reserves the right to cancel this course no later than 4 weeks prior to the start date. If a cancellation is necessary, your registration fee will be refunded, but CHEST is not responsible for other costs of attendance, such as travel.
