CHEST welcomes new Chief Learning Officer, James B. Young

Glenview, IL - The American College of Chest Physicians® (CHEST) has announced the addition of James B. Young, who is joining the medical society’s staff as the Chief Learning Officer and Senior Vice President of Education, effective immediately. Young will oversee the vision and strategy for CHEST education as well as provide day-to-day guidance and support to the CHEST Education division.

“I am excited to bring Jim on board and look forward to his contributions as a leader in this role, where he will make a great impact on the accessibility of CHEST education for all of our learners,” says Executive Vice President and CEO of CHEST, Robert Musacchio, PhD.

Young joins CHEST from the Society for College and University Planning where he served the last 4 years as the Chief Learning Officer and was responsible for developing and executing a multiyear growth plan to transform learning. He previously served as Director for Administration and Planning at Lehigh University and Associate Vice President for Information Services at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology.

“CHEST is a place of great ideas. There is a clear focus and investment into innovative, hands-on applied and simulated learning,” says Young. “Learning is engagement. How we translate what is happening in chest medicine into learning needs to be actionable, engaging, and in the format the learner feels most comfortable with.”
