CHEST® Pulmonary launches first issue

Glenview, Illinois – A new scientific publication, CHEST® Pulmonary, recently published its inaugural issue. As part of the journal CHEST® portfolio, this online-only publication is dedicated to the fields of pulmonary and sleep medicine.

“I am deeply grateful to our authors, reviewers, editorial board and staff who have contributed to the launch of our first issue,” says Matthew C. Miles, MD, MEd, FCCP, Editor in Chief of CHEST Pulmonary. “The journal CHEST is known for excellence in clinically relevant research and patient management guidance. CHEST Pulmonary expands the CHEST portfolio with [an] additional opportunity for researchers to share their work in an exclusively open access format to reach the broadest possible audience. I know our readers will enjoy learning from the research and reviews in Issue 1.”

Included in Issue 1:

CHEST Pulmonary focuses on a wide range of topic areas of clinically relevant research and patient management guidance in pulmonary and sleep medicine, including:

  • Asthma
  • Chest Infections
  • COPD
  • Diffuse Lung Disease
  • Education and Clinical Practice
  • Pulmonary Vascular Disease
  • Sleep
  • Thoracic Oncology

CHEST Pulmonary will feature areas of pulmonary and sleep medicine research not often targeted by the leading journals in our space, including implementation science, medical decision-making, artificial intelligence applications, quality improvement and education research, among others. CHEST Pulmonary will also feature publications covering early-phase clinical trials, descriptions of study designs, health care and public policy reports and articles that support new guideline releases.

The second new addition to the American College of Chest Physicians journal portfolio, CHEST® Critical Care, launched its first issue on June 22.

Similar to the flagship journal, both CHEST Pulmonary and CHEST Critical Care accept submissions of original research, case series and research letters.
