Turning Purpose Into Progress: The Impact of Your Giving in 2025

See how your generosity fueled a year of advancements in research, education, and community impact.

To our community of donors:

At CHEST, our mission to advance chest medicine is strengthened every day by members who choose to invest in their profession and its future. Philanthropy is not separate from that mission; it is one of the ways you actively shape it. In 2025, your generosity translated into meaningful progress across research, education, and community engagement and continued to deepen the impact and maturity of CHEST’s philanthropic program.

This year marked a pivotal moment in how we collectively support the next generation of clinicians. Through the 90 for 90 Campaign, created in recognition of CHEST’s 90th anniversary, donors funded 90 travel grants—the highest number we’ve ever awarded—ensuring that early career clinicians from across the globe could participate in the CHEST Annual Meeting, access high-quality education, and build the professional networks that will sustain their careers. The response to this campaign reflected something larger than a single initiative: It demonstrated a shared commitment to investing in the future of the field.

Across our three philanthropic pillars, your support delivered tangible outcomes.

  • Clinical Research: Donor-funded grants continued to advance investigator-led studies in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine, supporting innovative work that strengthens the evidence base and informs patient care.
  • Dedication to Education: In addition to expanded travel grants, philanthropy supported programs designed to foster mentorship, leadership development, and access to educational opportunities for clinicians at critical points in their professional journeys.
  • Community Impact: Through targeted, values-aligned initiatives, donor dollars helped extend health education and resources into communities, reinforcing CHEST’s commitment to improving outcomes beyond the walls of academic medicine.

Just as important as what was accomplished is how it was accomplished. CHEST philanthropy in 2025 reflects a program that is growing more intentional, more responsive to member priorities, and more deeply rooted in the belief that collective investment can move the field forward. Donors are not simply supporting programs; they are helping shape the direction and sustainability of this work for years to come.

We are profoundly grateful for the trust you place in CHEST and for your commitment to advancing chest medicine through philanthropy. Your partnership makes this work possible, and your investment ensures that the profession continues to evolve, lead, and serve patients worldwide.

We hope this impact report helps you better understand what you’ve helped to do, what you’ll do in the future, and how grateful we are you’ve joined us. Thank you.
