August 2017 #pulmCC Twitter Chat: What Trainees Need to Know About Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep

By: Drs. Chris Carroll and Anne Sutherland

Join us Wednesday, August 30, at 7:00 pm CT as we discuss another hot topic in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. The topic? What Trainees Need to Know About Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep. Drs. Chris Carroll and Anne Sutherland will host this #pulmCC chat.

Summer is starting to wind down, and a new class of trainees is just starting to settle into their new positions on the wards, in the ICU, at clinic, and at the bedside. Whether you are training fellows, residents, medical students, or nurses, there is much to learn!

For our next #pulmcc Twitter chat, we thought we’d crowdsource some medical education. What are some of the key resources that you wished you had known about when you were just starting out?  Not just the newest “hot” topics, but what about the basic stuff that every provider needs to know!  How did you learn about oxygen delivery and pulmonary pathophysiology?  How about interpreting blood gases and sleep studies? Are there good textbooks, good concise review books, or even online tutorials?  Let’s get specific and spread the FOAMed around!

T1: What are some good #pulmonary related educational resources?

T2: What are some good #criticalcare related educational resources?

T3: What are some good #sleep related educational resources?

T4: Much of your “success” will be linked to how well you relate with colleagues. What are some good #leadership resources for trainees?

Closing Thoughts (CT): Philosophically, what do you wish you had known?
