Keeping up with the latest research and recommendations can be challenging for industry representatives, and CHEST is here to help. At CHEST 2017, CHEST will offer two educational opportunities presented by key opinion leaders from CHEST for our industry partners.

Biologic-Based Therapy in Asthma

Monday, October 30 at 7:30 am – 8:30 am

Description:

This session will engage health-care industry participants in an active learning experience on Biologic-Based Therapy in Asthma. The program will be conducted by an interdisciplinary panel of asthma content experts and include case-based discussion with audience response questions and team-based problem-based learning exercises.

2017 Update in Diagnosis and Management of COPD

  • Describe the changes in 2017 GOLD Guidelines.
  • Identify the various phenotypes of COPD. 

Description:

This session will engage health-care industry participants in an active learning experience for COPD diagnosis, management, and treatment with emphasis on the 2017 updates to the GOLD criteria. The program will be conducted by an interdisciplinary panel of COPD content experts and include case-based discussion with audience response questions and team-based problem-based learning exercises. 

A panel of experts in pulmonary medicine will conduct a case-based, interactive discussion on the diagnosis and management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Cases will be evidence-based and will draw heavily on the newly released Global Initiative for Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD 2017) Guidelines. Participants will leave with a detailed understanding of recommended treatments as determined by symptoms, exacerbations, and exposure history. Oral and inhaled medications, along with nonpharmacologic treatments, will be discussed.” – Aaron Holley, MD, FCCP
