Do Not Miss CHEST Board Review

Somehow 2016 is already more than half over, and CHEST Board Review is only a few days away. I want to encourage you to attend, even if you have already tried some of the excellent CHEST e-learning products. e-Learning is a wonderful tool for learning at your own pace and from anywhere in the world, but there are many reasons live learning is a great, immersive experience.

Live Courses Provide Concentrated Review

Signing up for a CHEST Live Learning board review course will allow you to move quickly through the key points of all topics within the disciplines of pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine, pediatric pulmonary medicine, or critical care medicine. This is particularly important for disciplines with very broad topics to cover, concentrating your attention on the points important to master for your exam.

Having a rapid overview will allow you to focus your efforts on areas in which you might need more review or cases for which are not part of your normal practice. Being on-site for a review course allows you to quickly clarify points with expert faculty and network with other course attendees to share questions and form study groups. This year, CHEST will again feature an electronic syllabus and for the first time will, for certain courses, provide attendees daily quiz questions up through the time the board exam is offered. CHEST is your lifelong learning partner throughout your career.

There is no experience that can fully replicate the experience of attending a live board review course. This total immersion into the materials will provide the experience and knowledge necessary to have peace of mind that you have done everything possible to pass your exam.

The live course also serves as the opportunity to meet with other professionals to network and, hopefully, collaborate in the near future. Whether looking to certify, recertify, or simply review, CHEST Live Learning Board Review is an ideal resource. Board review can be a stressful experience, so there is reason to rest easy if you attend the live course in Phoenix. You will be fully prepared to pass the ABIM exam.

If You Cannot Make It to Phoenix

Do you wonder how best to prepare for your board exam when at work there are patients to see, research to do, grants to prepare, and administrative paperwork piling up; and while at home, there are commitments to juggle and very few opportunities to free up time for your undivided attention? Some of you probably cannot fit it into the schedule to join us in Phoenix.

Carving out a few minutes to study for boards can be challenging even for the most organized individuals. Idle time commuting to work, waiting for rounds, or over lunch can be used efficiently by taking advantage of tools such as the electronic version of SEEK, which includes practice test questions with answers and detailed rationale. Having access to hundreds of practice test questions will get you into the “rhythm” of rapidly analyzing and responding to test questions while covering a wide range of conditions sure to be tested on the boards. Printed versions of SEEK are available with high-fidelity images and space to jot down notes during your exam preparation.

Electronic study materials provide a useful supplement, but if you can make it, plan to join us in Phoenix. Nothing can replicate the experience of CHEST Live Learning. We look forward to seeing you at a CHEST Live Learning course soon!
