Where do you work?
I work in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles, California.

What are your research interests?
Asthma remodeling and immunity and lung transplantation immunity.

How did you become interested and involved in CHEST’s Networks?
I was interested and got involved as a participant since I initially became an ACCP Associate Member.

Are you involved in any other activities or volunteer positions at CHEST?
I am a CHEST Foundation grant reviewer and member of a number of committees and groups within CHEST.

What clinical research is most interesting to you right now?
Asthma immunity (National Institutes of Health sponsored co-principal investigator [PI] and pharmaceutical-sponsored PI).

What are your hobbies?
Scuba diving, tango dancing, and landscaping/gardening.

What is something you cannot live without (after family and friends)?
Continuing to be active in medicine (patients, teaching), traveling, and my wife’s amazing culinary talents.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with your Network peers?
I am the former ACCP Governor for Southern California.
