In this educational game, learners play the part of a detective. Learners will encounter a collection of fictitious patient cases. Within each case, the learner will study case evidence to determine the patient diagnoses of each case. Then learners continue to decide the best treatment option for each diagnosis.

Course Objectives

  • Acquaint clinicians with the most up-to-date guidelines for treating patients with VTE.
  • Identify treatment options that have shown efficacy in the clinical management of submassive and massive syndromes in PE.
  • The learner will be able to determine when to use which risk stratification.
  • Determine the optimal location to treat patients with VTE (home or in hospital).
  • Review therapies for various anticoagulation.
  • Learn about underlying hypercoagulable states change treatment in PE.

Nursing Credit

Maintenance of Certification Statement
Successful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn up to .5 MOC point in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points.

Upon successful completion of this course, CHEST will submit your completion data to ABIM via ACCME's Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) for MOC points. Please allow 3-5 business days after claiming for points to be reflected on your ABIM record.
