Accreditation and credit designation statements

Physicians
The American College of Chest Physicians is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education (CME) credit for physicians.

The American College of Chest Physicians designates this live event as eligible for a maximum of 33.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurses
Provider-approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 16433, for 33.5 contact hours.

Respiratory Therapists
This traditional program has been approved for 33.5 contact hour(s) of Continuing Respiratory Care Education (CRCE) credit by the American Association for Respiratory Care, 9425 N. MacArthur Blvd. Suite 100, Irving, TX 75063.

Critical Care Nursing Credit
The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME. Individuals are responsible for checking with the AANPCB for further guidelines.

Physician Assistant Credit
American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for 33.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 33.5 Category 1 credits for completing this activity.

Sleep CME/CE
Physicians attending CHEST 2022 can claim sleep credits. There is a maximum of 18 hours of sleep credits that can be earned, depending on sessions attended. These hours are NOT in addition to but are included in the 33.5 credits offered for this live meeting. The CME/CE certificate will include verbiage of the number of hours of sleep medicine credit available. A separate certificate will NOT be provided unless a written request is emailed to CMEsupport@chestnet.org. Please include “Sleep Medicine Certificate” in the subject line of your request and provide the name of the sleep medicine sessions attended in the body of your email. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

European Attendees
The European Board for Accreditation in Cardiology (EBAC) will recognize certificates obtained by European physicians who attend cardiovascular medicine activities offered by US providers accredited within the ACCME system. Those physicians would submit their CME certificate from CHEST directly to EBAC to have EBAC credit awarded. The American Medical Association (AMA) has an agreement of mutual recognition of CME credit with the European Union of Medical Specialties (UEMS). Under the terms of this agreement, European physicians can earn ECMEC® by attending live events worldwide that have been certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

ABIM Maintenance of Certification
Successful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn up to 33.5 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points. Upon successful completion of this activity, CHEST will submit your completion data to ABIM via ACCME’s Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) for MOC points. Please allow 3 to 5 business days for points to appear on your ABIM record.

  2. Complete the CHEST Annual Meeting 2022 Comprehensive Evaluation.
  3. Complete the claiming prompts. Finalize by clicking the Claim button.
  4. Your certificate and transcript can be viewed under Claimed Activities on the Manage CME page.

To guarantee our accredited continuing education is fair and balanced and that any clinical content presented supports safe, effective patient care, we require all planners, faculty, and others in control of educational content to complete and submit a disclosure form.
