Where do you work?
Currently, I am employed at the Valley Coastal Bend VA Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. Additionally, I hold the position of Adjunct Clinical Professor at Texas A&M University.

What are your research interests and how does this apply to your position within the Networks?
My research interests primarily revolve around clinical research, with a particular focus on critical care medicine and sleep medicine. Among these interests, I have a specific passion for studying ICU and chest infections.

How did you become interested and involved in the Chest Infections and Disaster Response Network?
My fascination with epidemiology predates my pursuit of a Master of Public Health degree at Yale University. Furthermore, my extensive experience traveling to low- and middle-income countries to mentor and assist with disaster preparedness and planning kindled my interest in this Network. The presence of an inspiring team and mentors within the Network further fueled my enthusiasm and offered me opportunities to hone my skills and pursue my passions.

Are you involved in any other activities or volunteer positions at CHEST?
I have been actively engaged with CHEST philanthropy, serving as a trustee for the CHEST Foundation and holding the position of Secretary for more than 5 years. Additionally, I have contributed my expertise to various committees, including the Membership Committee, among others.

What clinical research is most interesting to you right now?
I am particularly intrigued by the role of artificial intelligence in health care.

What are your hobbies?
My hobbies include traveling, reading, and spending quality time with my family.

What is something you cannot live without (after family and friends)?
Patient care holds an indispensable place in my life.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with your Network peers?
