Where do you work?
I am a Professor of Medicine and Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Program at the University of Cincinnati. I am a pulmonary and critical care trained physician, and I have been working at the University of Cincinnati since I completed my training.

What are your research interests?
I am focused on pulmonary vascular disease, and I am very active in clinical trials in the pulmonary hypertension space. It is a very exciting time for pulmonary vascular disease research, as we are looking at novel pathways and new ways to use existing medications to better outcomes for our pulmonary arterial hypertension patients. We are making great progress and have been able to impact our patients’ lives in a positive way through ongoing efforts to better understand this disease process and develop medications for this condition.

How did you become interested and involved in the Pulmonary Vascular and Cardiovascular Network?
I was drawn to CHEST because of the excellent hands-on and interactive education that I received at the CHEST meetings as a fellow and early attending. I later became involved in the Pulmonary Vascular and Cardiovascular Network because of my interest in pulmonary hypertension and right heart disease. My involvement in CHEST has been an incredible experience, and I have learned a great deal from all the members I have had the privilege to work with over the last decade.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with your Network peers?
In addition to pulmonary hypertension, my passion is education. I have enjoyed working with CHEST members and leadership with the shared goal of increasing awareness and education on the complexities of cardiovascular and pulmonary vascular disease.

I look forward to meeting new members and working with the Pulmonary Vascular and Cardiovascular Network Sections over the next few years. I am looking forward to seeing all of you at CHEST 2023 in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.
