Glenview, Illinois –

disease, education and clinical practice, pulmonary vascular disease,

The
February issue
of CHEST journal contains 56 articles, including clinically

the journal also offers
complementary web and multimedia activities,
including visual abstracts, to expand the reach of its most interesting,
timely and relevant research.
“Previously included as a series, Humanities was officially added to the
journal CHEST as its own section this month. A reader favorite, CHEST Humanities hosts articles on thoughts, reflections, research
and stories relating to chest medicine,” says Editor in Chief of the
journal, Peter Mazzone, MD, MPH, FCCP. “This month’s Humanities articles
include original research, ‘Rationing With Respect to Age During a Pandemic,’ which looks into how hospitals across the country are incorporating the
controversial standard of rationing by age and/or life-years into their
pandemic preparedness plans.”
Also included in the current issue of the journal CHEST:
-
Thoracic Oncology
Despite concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic having a negative impact on lung
cancer screening rates, “Lung Cancer Screening Rates During the COVID-19 Pandemic” shows that 19 states experienced significant improvements during 2020.
Related to this research, CHEST published
lung cancer screening guidelines
in the journal CHEST and recently created a course on shared
decision making with Thomas Jefferson University to increase lung cancer
screenings. More information about the course can be found
here.
