About this course

NEW COURSE! Since the utilization of mechanical circulatory support (MCS) is rapidly growing, mastering this method is essential for clinicians who manage patients with cardiac or pulmonary failure. In this course, you’ll build your skills in MCS with a focus on management of shock.

Clinical experts from high-volume MCS centers will teach you a comprehensive approach to identifying patients who would benefit from MCS. Through hands-on simulations, you’ll learn techniques for managing complex organ failure and liberating patients from MCS.

Everyone attending and staffing the course must have completed the full course of an FDA-approved vaccination for COVID-19, including all boosters for which they are eligible, before the beginning of the course. Tuition refund requests for this course must be received in writing by 4 weeks prior to the course start date for a full refund, less a $100 processing fee. Physician Credit

CHEST is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CHEST designates this live activity for a maximum of 25.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

CME credit hours are subject to change. Final CME credit hours will be provided on-site.

Nursing Credit

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 16433, for 25.5 contact hours.

Nurse Practitioners

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from organizations accredited by the ACCME. Individuals are responsible for checking with the AANPCB for further guidelines.

Physician Assistants

American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. PAs may receive a maximum of 25.5 Category 1 credits for completing this activity.

Maintenance of Certification Statement

Successful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn up to 25.5 MOC Part 2 Medical Knowledge points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points. Upon successful completion of this course, CHEST will submit your completion data to ABIM via ACCME's Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) for MOC points.
