About this course

Expert faculty will train you on how to approach common and difficult airway situations and apply algorithms to airway scenarios. As you learn a standardized approach to preparation, you’ll develop and hone your motor and cognitive skills to maximize procedural success and patient safety. You will apply your advanced skills of extraglottic airway device insertion, direct and indirect video laryngoscopy, awake fiberoptic intubation, cricothyroidotomy, and dual-modality intubation to care for patients with difficult airways.

What you'll learn

Airway management for patients who are critically ill using evidence-based methods and crew resource management concepts

Systematic approaches to patient, equipment, and drug preparation before intubation

How to perform laryngoscopy in varying clinical conditions using high-fidelity simulation, including management of the soiled airway

Use of video laryngoscopes, awake fiberoptic intubation strategies, extraglottic devices, and cricothyrotomy in difficult or failed airways

Your tuition fee includes attendance at all course sessions and electronic access to course materials. (Printed materials or flash drives will not be provided.) Lunch and refreshments during breaks will be provided. Breakfast is available at CHEST-affiliated hotels.

Cancellation Policy

Tuition refund requests for this course must be received in writing by 4 weeks prior to the course start date for a full refund, less a $100 processing fee. Refunds will not be given after 4 weeks prior to the course start date. If you choose "Become a Member" when you register, only your course registration can be cancelled. No refunds will be given for membership.

CHEST reserves the right to cancel this course no later than 4 weeks prior to the start date. If a cancellation is necessary, your registration fee will be refunded, but CHEST is not responsible for other costs of attendance, such as travel.
