CHEST SEEK Education

CHEST SEEK™ learning options stimulate and challenge your clinical thought processes related to recall, interpretation, and problem-solving skills.

Developed from the content blueprints for the board examinations, SEEK features cases and multiple-choice questions and answers with rationales to test your knowledge. The case-based questions include histories, lab results, and images, and provide education on current diagnostic and treatment strategies.

CHEST SEEK resources are valuable study tools for anyone preparing for certification and recertification examinations or longitudinal knowledge assessments sponsored by the medical specialty board.

For the purchasers of CHEST SEEK Pulmonary Medicine: 33rd Edition:

Question 60's stem is revised for clarification as the following: "What is the stage of the adenocarcinoma of the lung if the transthoracic needle biopsy results confirm the nodule is benign (eg, granulomatous inflammation), and what is the stage of the adenocarcinoma of the lung if the transthoracic needle biopsy results show the same adenocarcinoma?"

Question 70 is no longer up-to-date based on subsequent research and publication: The use of video laryngoscope does result in higher incidence of successful intubation on first attempt.

The rationale of question 116 reverses Videos 1 and 2: Video 1 reveals no evidence for lung sliding and pulsing, and Video 2 shows a normal image obtained using point-of-care ultrasonography.

For the purchasers of CHEST SEEK Critical Care Medicine: 32nd Edition:

Question 31 has the image and videos reversed. The question is best answered with the videos in the question and image in the rationale.

Question 105 has the wrong predicted body weight. It should read “68” instead of “168.” His vital signs included temperature, 38.6°C; BP, 95/55 mm Hg with a low-dose norepinephrine infusion; pulse, 107/min; respirations, 28/min; and SpO2, 94%, and his predicted body weight is 68 kg.

To the purchasers of CHEST SEEK Pulmonary Medicine: 31st Editon book:

Question 122 is missing the following question stem:
The results from these investigations are most consistent with which of the following?

To the purchasers of the CHEST SEEK Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine: 1st Edition book:

There is an error in the explanation to the answer of question 2 (pages 39-40 in the Response Key, Rationale, and References section). The red text is the corrected information.
