Where do you work, and what is your current position?
University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Director of Clinical Education and Associate Professor.

What are your clinical and/or research interests?
Asthma and burnout in respiratory therapists.

What led you to join your Interest Group and become a Steering Committee member?
I was previously the Chair of the Interprofessional NetWork. When CHEST restructured the Networks, I sought to remain actively involved within respiratory therapy by joining the Respiratory Care Interest Group.

How does this Interest Group enhance your experience as a CHEST member?
This Interest Group enhances my CHEST membership by providing meaningful opportunities to collaborate with colleagues who share a focused interest in respiratory therapy.

Who or what has inspired you in your journey in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine?
My journey in pulmonary and critical care has been deeply influenced by mentors who modeled clinical excellence and interprofessional collaboration. Their guidance reinforced the importance of lifelong learning and leadership within respiratory care.

What activities or hobbies do you enjoy that might surprise your colleagues?
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and spending quality time with my family.

What is something you cannot live without (after family and friends)?
A strong sense of purpose along with work-life balance.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with your Interest Group peers?
I appreciate the opportunity to engage with such a thoughtful and collaborative group and look forward to the future of the Respiratory Care Interest Group.
