What led you to join your Interest Group and become a Steering Committee member?
I love the community and comradery of CHEST, which combines education, leadership, and mentorship. The numerous women leaders and mentors inspired me to be a part of the WiCM Interest Group.

How does this Interest Group enhance your experience as a CHEST member?
The WiCM Interest Group has been especially inspiring, providing a space where leaders openly share their experiences and support one another’s growth. It allows the opportunity to connect with other CHEST members to not only create connections and have collaborations but also, more importantly, make countless friends with many great memories!

Who or what has inspired you in your journey in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine?
I’m inspired by the strong women mentors who have shaped my path in pulmonary and critical care, the welcoming and inclusive community of CHEST, and, most of all, my patients, who continue to teach me something new every day.

What activities or hobbies do you enjoy that might surprise your colleagues?
Surfing! And my newest adventure is hydrofoiling. When not on the water, I enjoy golfing and watching English Premier League soccer.

What is something you cannot live without (after family and friends)?
Our crazy clowder of cats (just three): Apollo, Hamish, and Lord Nelson (he only has one eye).

Is there anything else you’d like to share with your Interest Group peers?
I was a chemist for NASA before my career in medicine. Life is a journey—not always linear, but purposeful and full of stories.
