Where do you work?
Baylor Scott and White Medical Center, Waxahachie, Texas, and Texas Health Huguley Hospital, Burleson, Texas.
What are your research interests?
Critical care and lung ultrasound.
What led you to join your Network?
I have always been inspired by the CHEST Networks and the opportunities they offer since my time as a fellow. My journey in the Networks started in 2015 during a Trainee Lounge visit. I interacted with many leaders in CHEST, and after learning about the amazing opportunities, I applied for a steering committee position in the Clinical Research and Quality Improvement NetWork. I have been part of various CHEST Networks ever since.
What achievements are you most proud of contributing to within your Network?
I am proud of the educational activities our Network has put together. The Network has played a pivotal role in keeping the CHEST community up to date in this ever-changing and challenging landscape of research and medicine.
How has being in a Network benefited your career and your experience as a CHEST member?
My active engagement for the last 10 years in CHEST Networks has been incredibly beneficial, fostering valuable connections and injecting fresh perspectives into my career, hospitals, and patients I serve. The ability to synthesize best practices and translate them into tangible improvements in patient care is truly impactful.
What are your hobbies?
Traveling and following all formats of international and local cricket.
What is something you cannot live without (after family and friends)?
Teaching and following cricket. International cricket officially landed in the United States in 2024, and I was fortunate to see the inauguration of the T20 World Cup 2024 in my backyard at the Grand Prairie Stadium.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with your Network peers?
CHEST Networks are a great way of learning and educating at the same time. The experience I have gained from the Networks is unique and has helped me in my career. I am happy to help new members at CHEST navigate their career pathway. I would also encourage fellows to get involved with CHEST.
