Where do you work?
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles.
What are your research interests?
Mixed shock, resuscitation, right ventricular failure, pulmonary hypertension, and pulmonary embolism.
What led you to join your Network?
Joining the Network was an amazing opportunity to engage in discussions with people from around the world on topics related to shock resuscitation, become both a mentor and a mentee, and take advantage of networking opportunities in research and clinical medicine.
What achievements are you most proud of contributing to within your Network?
I've worked with some incredible people to write concise and timely summaries of clinically relevant topics. I have also helped review programming and abstracts for the annual meeting, ensuring that attendees have the opportunity to learn from the best educators, clinicians, and researchers from around the world.
How has being in a Network benefited your career and your experience as a CHEST member?
I've made some great connections with people from around the world, many of whom have become my research collaborators. I’ve had my work published in the journal CHEST® and presented at the annual meeting, and I am an Editorial Board member for the CHEST Physician® publication. Most meaningfully, I have had the opportunity to serve as a mentor for trainees and more junior physicians.
What are your hobbies?
Taking trips to the mountains, reading, working on cars, and listening to jazz and blues. Most importantly—spending time with family!
What is something you cannot live without (after family and friends)?
Being able to spend time outside, ideally in mountains and forests.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with your Network peers?
I speak four languages reasonably well, I can play saxophone quite poorly, and I'm decent at gardening!
