Where do you work?
Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas.
What are your research interests?
Interstitial lung disease and lung transplant.
What led you to join your Network?
As the Nonrespiratory Critical Care Section Chair, my vision is to address the challenges faced by critical care physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) in our daily clinical practice and to ensure that key research findings are effectively communicated to clinicians, keeping them informed with the latest evidence-based medicine.
What achievements are you most proud of contributing to within your Network?
We have worked as a team to understand how to manage and navigate the COVID-19 pandemic while collaborating with great scientists and clinical experts around the world to improve patient care. The Critical Care Network has generated numerous educational materials in online and print media, bringing the latest studies to clinicians working on the front lines. With the growing involvement of APPs in the ICU, I have also focused on developing workshops tailored for critical care APPs.
How has being in a Network benefited your career and your experience as a CHEST member?
The Critical Care Network has provided me with valuable resources to partner with other physicians, aiding me in both clinical work and research projects.
What are your hobbies?
Outdoor activities, like hiking, biking on trails, and gaming with my team.
What is something you cannot live without (after family and friends)?
Meditation and technology that makes my life easier.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with your Network peers?
I strive to live a meaningful life and aim to leave this world better for future generations.
